Map of Salvation

Documentary film in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide

The film is about the humanist movement that emerged as a wave of protest and resistence during human tragedies in the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th centuries, especially the Armenian Genocide.

The film tells about five European women, Maria Jacobsen (Denmark), Karen Jeppe (Denmark), Bodil Biørn (Norway), Alma Johansson (Sweden), Anna Hedvig Büll (Estonia), who were witnesses to the Armenian Genocide and subsequently founded shelters for Armenian children and women.

The film was shot in Western Armenia (present-day Turkey) where the Armenian Genocide took place, and in Scandinavia where these women lived.

Directed by Aram Shahbazyan
