Exclusive: Baroness Cox: Artsakh must be independent from aggressor Azerbaijan (Video interview)

Posted on April 23, 2016

Baroness Caroline Cox, member of British House of Lords, visited Artsakh / Nagorno Karabakh many times during the war (1991-1994). She was an eyewitness to the aggression and attempts of ethnic cleansing by Azerbaijan against the people of the Nagorno Karabakh who wanted to be independent from Azerbaijan. She testifies that Azerbaijan unleashed a full-scale war against Artsakh using military force (dropping cluster bombs and GRAD) on the civilian population, which included children. After what she has seen she unequivocally condemns Azerbaijan for its aggression and stands of for the just cause of the Karabakh Armenians. She states that the people of Artsakh have been and continue to face an existential threat from Azerbaijan, that they have fought and defended their right to live in their historic homeland. Baroness Cox 's humanitarian organization HART today has a branch in Artsakh and works to support the people living there.
Carline Cox believes that the international community should recognize and support Artsakh and should put pressure on Azerbaijan which up today pursues the policy of taking control over Artsakh by force and strip it of its Armenian population. Cox also comments about Azeri propaganda and 'caviar diplomacy' abroad, which runs on oil money and is full of lies and misinformation.
